MOSCOW, March 15 (RAPSI) – The Presidential Council for Human Rights is ready to aid the minors’ rights ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova in her work on the return of children from Syria to Russia, the advisory body’s chairman Mikhail Fedotov announced Friday.

On Friday, Fedotov met with women whose children and grandkids are currently in the Syrian Al-Hol camp. All of us are concerned over the fate of our fellow citizens by circumstance found themselves in Syria, and we are willing to help Anna Kuznetsova return children to their homeland, the human rights official told the women.

Throughout the last year, Kuznetsova was facilitating the return of Russian minors from combat zones in Syria and Iraq and is keeping on it now.

In February, the Emergency Ministry’ s charter flight transported 27 minors along with their convicted or prosecuted mothers from a Baghdad prison to Moscow.

In late December 2018, 30 other children aged from 3 to 5 were released from the prison in Baghdad and came back to Russia with the participation of doctors, psychologists, rescuers and employees of the federal ombudsman’s office.
